Too bad the wiring is so bad. It looks like an angry animal got into the wiring harness, but it was really the previous owner. Runs beautifully. It doesn’t backfire in spite of my user name, that’s in reference to a Datsun pickup I drove in high school.
I probably bit off more than any sane person can chew.
He says it has a rough ride and that he doesn’t like driving. He and his brother inherited it. I tried to convince him to give me a ride in it. I doubt it worked. I knew he was wealthy despite being a teacher like me.
I got my suspension, brakes, engine, and interior back together on my 540i. I decided it could use some gas that wasn’t pushing a year old. So I set out to the gas station. I backed it out, made it four houses down when I heard -clink- the brake caliper clip had fallen off. I turned around, parked in the driveway,…
Found this on a walk in my neighborhood yesterday. The smog ref sticker said it was a 1990 Chevy 5 litre.
Gnarled front lower control arm. Slightly bent sub frame. Bad thrust arm bushing, and wrong sized brake rotors made this take forever. Plus put new wheel bearings on. The passenger side was done months ago because the subframe was straight. It took so much torching, hammering, muttering, bending, disassembling,…
I’m so happy. Went from 50 miles on a full charge to 102. Also a new ABS actuator and master cylinder.
I was hunting for a project car on craigslist for the past few weeks. I found a 1971 VW bug that looked slightly promising for $1600. I went and test drove it. The brakes on it were insane and required the force of several small babies on the brake pedal just to slow it slightly but I thought “hey this looks fun to…
Here is my complaint about my Leaf’s death brakes:
My son asked me to take a picture and post it on Oppo. The previous owner used latex paint on these style 32 BMW wheels.
I bought a 1997 540i nonrunning off of craigslist as a project car. It had EWS (anti theft) issues including a transistor broken off of the EWS box. Additionally the ignition switch was bad. Initially things didn’t go so well, I locked myself in on a 90+ degree day. That was rather scary, but luckily my children…
Is this a regional thing? I was in Austin for the first time.
Spotted this morning. Tell me about it
One mystery hose left on the engine, and erased my alignment marks on the strut.
Weirdly, my 12 volt lead acid is outliving the huge drive battery. Gaston Plante knew what he was doing inventing the lead acid battery.
